"The very pale 2022 El3mento is pure Listán Negro with a very long maceration but without working the skins, and it doesn't have any press wine. It's herbal and spicy, mineral and volcanic, with a polished palate with some remaining fine-grained tannins. This wine is a joint venture between Carmelo Peña and Luis Pedro from Quinta de Carolina and Niepoort in Douro. They do the same vinification in different places of the world: long macerations in tinaja with full clusters from vines at high altitudes and cool places, matured in tinaja for one year and one more year in stainless steel. The palate here is medium-bodied, with pure flavors and a chalky finish; it's serious and with a gentler palate this year. 1,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2024." 93 points
