"Yield of 12 hl/ha - almost record high levels! Quite deep gold. Wonderfully deep nose - never smelt anything as intense and glorious as this! Extraordinary!!! Deep yet lively. Exciting depth of pear juice and zest - tangerine peel too. Great astringency. 2001 was more concentrated. This is more transparent. Lovely dancing stuff, but already in the super-nuanced Yquem idiom. Lighter than some vintages but with great lacy complexity. Wonderful green, lively notes and some real explosiveness - 13.5 per cent. Energy drink! Coiled like a taut spring. Drink 2015-50" Score: 20

En 400 år lang perfektionistisk vinfremstilling af familien Lur-Saluces har Château d'Yquem produceret noget af det ypperste indenfor vinverdenen, og noget enhver vinelsker drømmer om at smage minimum en gang i sit liv.
Château d'Yquem gør alting til grænsen bl.a. høsttidens længde. Der høstet mange gange helt ind til december. Hver vinstok og hver drueklase bliver systematisk gået igennem for at sortere de bedste og mest modne druer fra. Man siger, at der gennemsnitlig går en vinstok til et glas.
Vinen bliver lagret på 100 % nye egetræsfade, hvor vinen ligger i 42 mdr. Château d'Yquem bruger kun de bedste druer. De resterende druer anvendes enten til den tørre "Y", eller sælges videre.
