"The 2021 Flor de Pingus is a village wine from La Horra, made with small vinifications by plot and then a blending exercise, so it's the wine they feel is most their style. They look for texture, looking for a delicate and elegant wine. The nose is very subtle and harmonious, super clean and with a lot of focus. There are no traces of oak on the nose. The profile of the wine is more in line with 2018 or 2016 than with 2015 or 2019. This has a velvety texture, an elegant mouthfeel and some restraint (he thinks the warm summer in 2021 made the plants slow down), and it is fresher than the wine from 2020. There's a very fine thread, with chalky and very elegant tannins. This delivered what the wine promised from barrel. Starting in 2023, the wine will be certified organic. They produced around 96,300 bottles and some larger formats. It was bottled in June 2023. Drink 2024-2030"

Flor de Pingus
Dominio de Pingus is located in the La Horra region of Ribera del Duero. Owner/winemaker, Peter Sisseck, an oenologist originally from Denmark, started the estate in 1995. There are currently 3 wines produced, Flor de Pingus, a single barrel cuvee called Amelia which began in 2003, and the flagship Pingus. In a normal vintage there are usually about 4000 cases of Flor de Pingus, 500 cases of Pingus, and 25 cases of Amelia. Flor de Pingus is sourced from a number of small parcels located in the La Horra zone. The vines are all over 35 years of age and have been farmed biodynamically since 2005.They are either owned or rented by Peter Sisseck, so Flor de Pingus always comes from the same pieces of ground. In that sense it is not a second wine but there is no question that is a very close approximation of Pingus at a fraction of the price. That makes it a relative bargain in the scheme of things. The wine is 100% Tempranillo typically aged for 14 months in new French barriques. The first vintage of Pingus was in 1995. The estate has been biodynamically farmed since 2000 and, according to Sisseck, has never been treated with fertilizer or pesticides. The Pingus vines are all at least 65 years of age and yields are typically under 1 ton per acre. The wines, made from 100% Tempranillo, are bottled without fining or filtration.

Pingus PSI er et spændende projekt der handler mere om at afsøge de muligheder, der ligger gemt i de rodfæstede traditioner, i stedet for at præstere voldsomme vine, der stiler efter at slå benene væk under verdenspressen.
I en normal årgang ligger Flor de Pingus på de 4.000 kasser, 500 kasser af Flor de Pingus og Amelia er helt nede på de 25 kasser. Den nye Pingus PSI har svinget, mellem 9.600 og 16.600 kasser.
Flor de Pingus får druer fra små parceller der der ligger i La Horra zonen. Vinstokkene er alle over 35 år gamle og har været biodynamiske siden 2005. Parcellerne ejes eller lejes af Peter Sisseck, så Flor de Pingus kommer altid fra de samme stokke. I den forstand er det ikke en andenvin, men der er ingen tvivl om, at er en meget tæt tilnærmelse af Pingus til en brøkdel af prisen. Her er Pingus så med druer fra stokke der aldrig er under 65 år gamle, og med lavt udbytte samt samt at de er flasket direkte uden tilvirtkning eller filtrering.
Fælles for alle vinene er dog at de laves på 100% Tempranillo.
