Charbonniére, Les Hautes Brusquières Cuvée Spéciale 2007

Domaine de la Charbonniére, Chateaneauf du Pape, Rhone, Frankrig

Beskrivelse:

Domaine de la Charbonnière råder over 17,5 ha. Chateauneuf du Pape og derudover 4 ha. AOC Vacqueyras.

Robert Parker i The Wine Advocate # 185 Oct 2009
"This wine is composed of a selection the Maret family makes from their holdings in one of the great sites in all of Chateauneuf du Pape, the lieux-dit known as La Crau. The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Hautes Brusquieres Cuvee Speciale is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah. The Grenache is aged in large oak foudres and most of the Syrah in smaller barrels. This fabulous, inky/ruby/purple-tinged wine offers up sweet, jammy aromas of black raspberries, licorice, truffles, underbrush, and Provencal herbs. It is the deepest colored of these four wines, and is also profoundly rich and layered, with sweet tannins as well as refreshing vibrancy and acidity. This stunner should hit its peak in 3-4 years, and last for two decades.

The Maret family runs this impeccably managed estate that has nearly 45 acres of vineyards, primarily in the northeast sector of the appellation. They also have a large holding on the high plateau in the northern tier of Chateauneuf du Pape from which they produce their superb Les Hautes Brusquieres from a lieux-dit of the same name. Only two 2008s were made. All of the 2007s performed better out of bottle than they did last year. Drink 2012-2032."

"...It possesses serious weight, so I believe this will be a real beauty after it is bottled next year.
I am a big fan of Michel Maret's Domaine de la Charbonniere, but his 2007s seem to have had very slow, late malolactics, and were less formed and accessible to taste than most of their peers. That said, there is considerable promise in these wines, and I expect they will eclipse their estimated scores, at the very least."

"Combines enticing plum, raspberry and blackberry fruit with black tea, tobacco, mineral and sandalwood notes. The long, fine-grained finish lets everything hang together nicely. Should blossom in the cellar. Drink now through 2027. 1,250 cases made. -JM"

"Rød farve. Intens duft af mørke kirsebær, lakrids. Mellemfyldig til fyldig vin med god frugt og en smag, der er let krydret og med en fin balance. Her er ikke så megen kraft og saft - vinen er mere elegant i det. Har en lille bismag men bestemt flot.
Vinen passer fint til en god gryderet."
