Henry´s Drive, Padthaway, South Australia
Beskrivelse:
Jay Miller i The Wine Advocate
"The 2006 Parson's Flat Shiraz (76%)-Cabernet Sauvignon (24%) was matured for 16-18 months in 50% new French and American oak. The alluring nose exhibits aromas of cigar box, coffee, violets, blueberry, and chocolate. Full-bodied, dense, and nearly opulent, it has ample, rich, savory fruit, enough ripe tannin to ensure 3-4 years of aging potential, and a lengthy, seamless finish. Drink it from 2012 to 2021."

The Wine Spectator
"Firm in texture, with a velvety feel to the ripe cherry and roasted red pepper flavors, lingering with hints of coffee and dark chocolate. Drink now through 2013. 6,000 cases made. -HS"
Shiraz - Cabernet
Jay Miller i Robert Parkers The Wine Advocate om forrige årgang
"The purple-colored 2005 Parson's Flat Shiraz (73%)-Cabernet Sauvignon (27%) was barrel-fermented and aged for 16-18 months in mostly American oak, 60% new. It offers up a fragrant bouquet of cedar, spice box, pepper, espresso, wild blueberry, and blackberry. Medium to full-bodied, it exhibits some complexity, layers of savory black fruits, and a lengthy finish. It has enough structure to evolve for 2-3 years but can be enjoyed now.
James Halliday says of Padthaway, "?It is on the way to nowhere. If you can pass through Coonawarra without noticing very much, you can pass through Padthaway without noticing anything at all." Be that as it may, this is where the Longbottoms added grape growing to their other farming interests and began Henry's Drive Vignerons. It quickly became clear that high quality grapes could be grown in Padthaway (they became the foundation of the Marquis-Philips line) and, subsequently, The Henry's Drive, Parson's Flat, and Pillar Box labels have gained significant traction in the USA market over the last ten years thanks to their superb price to quality ratio. Drink 2009-2011."

Robert Parker i The Wine Advocate om 2004
From the same team (growers Kim and Mark Longbottom and winemaker Kim Johnston) that runs Henry's Drive, this wine is made in a similar style. Produced from 6- to 12-year-old vines, it is a blend of 70% Shiraz and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 100% American oak, of which 80% is new. It is an in-your-face, exuberant, flamboyant Aussie red boasting loads of espresso roast, toasty oak, blackberries, cassis, and licorice. Full-bodied, opulent, and voluptuous, with oodles of glycerin and depth, this hussy requires drinking during its first 7-8 years of life, although it may last even longer.
