Domaine Barraud, Vergisson, Bourgogne, Frankrig
Beskrivelse:

Producer note: Daniel Barraud describes 2009 as a "precocious vintage. At the time we decided to begin picking which was on the 5th of September, sugars were rising rapidly and acidities were falling like a stone. Around the 15th of August we had five consecutive days of intense heat that really burned up the acidity. Besides that, 2009 was a relatively easy vintage as it was very clean without much rot pressure so it wasn't necessary to treat as often. Because the crop was clean we had normal yields with strong but not abnormal sugars of between 12.8 and 13.2%. As to the wines, they're interesting because at first, they didn't seem to have the individuality that they usually do, which is to say that the terroir was relatively mute. But after the malos finished, little by little the underlying terroir has become much more evident and I think that it will emerge more completely in time. As to the wines, they're clearly in the lower acid style, which reminds me of a 1999 without the high yields or perhaps like the '89s. They will be fruity and pleasant and should please, if not thrill, everyone.
" I have said this many times but it's worth repeating: Daniel Barraud is without question one of the finest growers in all of the Mâconnais and there is a credible argument to be made that his remarkable consistency vaults him right to the very top of the list. Yes, there are other fine growers who sometimes make wines equal to those of Barraud but this man almost never misses."

Tasting note: A ripe nose of peach, apricot and acacia blossom marries into extract rich, intense and detailed big-bodied flavors that possess real punch and depth on the citrusy, balanced and impressively persistent finish. Excellent juice and worth your attention.

"The La Roche is very elegant on the nose, akin to a fine Chassagne in many ways. The palate is very fresh and rounded on the entry, lovely peach and lemon curd flavours, quite fat in the mouth with a soft, caressing finish that is utterly irresistible. Su-bloody-perb." Neal Martin, 92 point
