Highly Recommended
"This is taut and pure, with a very direct beam of crushed kirsch, raspberry and pepper notes laced with floral, licorice and mineral hints. Stays mouthwatering and driven on the lengthy finish, with the minerality showing through nicely. Drink now through 2023"

Domaine de la Charbonnière råder over 17,5 ha. Chateauneuf du Pape og derudover 4 ha. AOC Vacqueyras.

"Shows the vintage's typically juicy core of crushed plum and blackberry fruit, along with velvety tannins that carry the licorice- and spice-filled finish. This doesn't show huge range, but still offers delicious fruit and solid drive. Drink now through 2019. 1,500 cases made. -JM"

Robert Parker i The Wine Advocate # 185 Oct 2009
"The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape, a blend of 70% Grenache and the rest equal parts Syrah and Mourvedre aged totally in foudre, is a classic example of Chateauneuf du Pape. It offers resiny, raspberry, and kirsch notes intermixed with lavender and Provencal herbs. Dark ruby-hued, medium to full-bodied, rich, and savory with silky tannins, good acids, and a long, heady finish, this beauty can be drunk now or over the next 12-15 years.
The Maret family runs this impeccably managed estate that has nearly 45 acres of vineyards, primarily in the northeast sector of the appellation. They also have a large holding on the high plateau in the northern tier of Chateauneuf du Pape from which they produce their superb Les Hautes Brusquieres from a lieux-dit of the same name. Only two 2008s were made. All of the 2007s performed better out of bottle than they did last year. Drink 2009-2024."

"The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is a blend of 70% Grenache and the rest equal parts Mourvedre and Syrah, aged in both tank and wood cuves. This elegant Chateauneuf exhibits attractive sandy, loamy soil scents intermixed with cherries, Provencal herbs, and spices. With good depth and ripeness as well as a pretty finish, this Burgundian-styled Chateauneuf du Pape should drink well for a decade.
I am a big fan of Michel Maret's Domaine de la Charbonniere, but his 2007s seem to have had very slow, late malolactics, and were less formed and accessible to taste than most of their peers. That said, there is considerable promise in these wines, and I expect they will eclipse their estimated scores, at the very least."
