Chateau L´Arrosee, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé, Bordeaux, Frankrig
Beskrivelse:
Rene Langdahl i GASTRO

"An ethereal, finesse-styled, Cheval Blanc-like delicacy accompanied by intensity characterize the 2006 l'Arrosee, another terrific effort from new proprietor Roger Caille. A dense ruby/purple color is followed by a sweet perfume of crushed rocks, raspberries, cherries, flowers, and spice. Velvety-textured and structured, with considerable concentration yet a lightness of being, this finesse-styled beauty should be ready to drink in 3-5 years, and last for two decades. Drink: 2010 - 2027."

CHATEAU L'ARROSEE A NEW START
Château l'Arrosée is a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé on the south
slope of Saint-Emilion, amidst the most renowned wines of the
appellation. Until now it was known only to a few connoisseurs who
were captivated by this distinguished, elegant wine.
In August 2002, Roger Caille, a retired businessman, and his son Jean-Philippe, succumbed to the charm of this beautiful 9.5 hectare estate with its prestigious neighbours: Ausone, Angélus, Beauséjour, Canonla- Gaffelière, etc.
They immediately saw the extraordinary potential of this small vineyard with its outstanding situation. The Château was not graded as a Premier Cru in 1955 as it did not, at that time, have its own vinification and ageing facilities but sold its harvest to the cooperative. However, the experts considered that the vineyard had all the qualities of a Premier Grand Cru Classé.
The outstanding situation, the age of the vines (35 years on
average) and the unusual blend were among the many
advantages which now rank Château L'Arrosée among the great
Saint-Emilions.
All that remained to do was to awaken the Sleeping Beauty and
restore the status of this great wine. With new facilities and new
vinification methods, Château l'Arrosée is now embarking on a new
life worthy of this Grand Cru Classé.
Château l'Arrosée has a unique style. The age of the vines and
special blend (merlot grapes are blended with 20% cabernet franc
and 20% cabernet sauvignon) give it a distinctive character and an
impressive ageing capacity. Full-bodied and powerful, it is always
perfumed, rich and full. It is a deep purple in colour with a nose that
is dense and rich which reveals itself in the mouth in stages. With a
moderate amount of tannin, it develops a taste of black cherry and
redcurrant. After ageing for 10 years in the cellar, it will reveal its
potential and will delight all those who enjoy great Saint-Emilions.
