"2010 is a top vintage for Bordeaux’s dry whites and 2008 is a good one. While the quality of the red wines of Bordeaux has soared over the last twenty years, the dry whites remain some of the longest-lived and under-valued great white wines of the world. In many vintages, some last as long if not longer than the dry reds. Obviously generic Bordeaux and those whites made in a fruit-forward style are meant to be drunk upon release, and are unlikely to improve, but the truly magnificent dry whites from Pessac-Léognan can easily evolve for 30-50 years or more."
